Never Satisfied!

I heard on the radio today that some jurisdictions are considering a law to require drivers of hybrid cars to install some sort of noise maker to warn unsuspecting pedestrians in parking lots. The full hybrid running on battery only at slow speed makes no sound that can be heard in a city environment. It does make a slight electrical hum somewhat like that of a power transformer on a utility pole.
