David Helps Dad Celebrate Birthday

David was anxious to get started. "Can we go on the golf car?"

Our first stop was the aircraft museum at Meacham Field but it was closed today. Next we visited the stockyards area and attempted the Cattle Chute Maze as recently seen on TV's Amazing Race.

Now which way did they go?

Maybe if we look down from here we can see how to whip this maze.

Finished at last. Only took about 9 times as long as the record time but they were kids not nearly as old as us!

Just down the street our fireman inspected a cowtown plug.

I remember coming here many times when I was a little boy. Daddy marketed cattle at these stockyards before the days of local country auction barns.

This is a window from the commission company that sold our cattle.

After having lunch at Riscky's downtown Ft. Worth we visited a museum in a building that once housed Fire Station No. 1. Click on the picture to enlarge if you can't read this moment in history.

David was more interested in watching the trucks than looking at the skyscrapers.

We saw a man clinging to the side of this building.

Before leaving the big city we stopped at the depot but it was not quite time for the Trinity Railway Express to return.
