Christmas Parade

Saturday afternoon Grandma and Grandpa drove the golf car in the Grandview Christmas Parade. Sue Ellen helped decorate the vehicle and I used a couple of old car batteries with a power inverter to light the string of lights and the little Christmas tree. The temperature was warm and the wind calm. There was a lot of participation in the parade this year. Jeff has a good photo report showing many of the entries.

You never know what to expect in these parades. Our Children's Day Out float won the grand prize and the FBC float won first place in the religious category. There were cash prizes for parade winners this year. Some of the money will be used to buy presents for needy children and some to enhance the Children's Day Out program.

A pair of Llamas are regulars in the parade. This year one of the llamas was wearing a Santa suit.

By Sunday afternoon the temperature had dropped to the mid thirties where it remained until Monday afternoon when a gradual warming trend began.

Added Tuesday: This afternoon the temperature is back in the seventies again after a night of dense fog! Yes, this must be Texas.
