To the Museum on Saturday

Saturday afternoon we went with Lauren to the Kimbell Art Museum in Ft. Worth. Some of the important objects that she was hoping to see were out on load but there was lots of other stuff to look at. She documented many of the objects on film.

I was interested in the architecture of the building. The walls and much of the floor were this porous travertine which gave a very impressive atmosphere to the gallery. Some of the floors and other woodwork were of quarter sawn white oak. I didn't see a knot anywhere!

As we were leaving everyone commented on the large sculpture at the front entrance. Most of the comments were not very artistic!

Lauren had arranged to meet Peter at Taco Cabana for supper. He is one of the youth from the summer trip to Cameroon. We enjoyed a good meal before heading back home.
