What do city folk do on the week-end? Go to the country!


Texas Cross Country Racing Association is having an event near Maypearl this week-end.



This is the view from Ozro cemetery looking west across Cottonwood Creek. This was on Saturday morning before the race on Sunday. Traffic was very heavy on the county road as more RV's and vehicles hauling bikes arrived for the event. There was already quite a roar and a fog of dust coming from the trees along the creek as the early arrivals were trying out the course and making practice runs.



Later in the day I saw this glider land at the airport between Maypearl and Midlothian. The only sound here was from the wind in my camera microphone. There is seldom any activity at this glider port during the week.
