Saturday Travel Day
Temperature was 25 degrees when we left home at 5:45 Saturday morning. All our snow had melted but as our plane climbed north from DFW the ground was all white for a few miles. Then there was no more sign of snow until we reached the mountains. This picture below caught my attention with all it's parallel lines in the snow. It looked almost like a seashore.

Soon we could see the water. Our pilot announced that we were flying over Mono Lake. The following snow pictures were in the Sierras.

This old smokestack is about a mile from the Tatum home. It once served a cement kiln and is the only structure left from that business. It now stands in a very beautiful neighborhood park. I read that there has been some controversy about the fate of this structure. It was used to hold up the disaster warning sirens for a time but they have now been removed and are still lying on the ground beside the stack.

This playhouse would be even more fun than climbing on Grandpa's gravel pile!

As usual Ann Carol prepared a very colorful and tasty meal for us.
