Day Two in East Texas.

Early Tuesday morning David, Robert and I found a cache located in a historic black cemetery in Marshall. Our entire group loaded on the bus and arrived at Marshall pottery by opening time at 9am. They had the entire store decorated for Christmas. My favorite part was watching the potter work on the wheel - it looked so easy but I know it takes lots and lots of practice.













After leaving the pottery we stopped by the cemetery to visit Homer Peden's grave. Our group had prayer around the grave surrounded by tall peaceful pine trees.




Carthage is the home of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and Tex Ritter Museum. We stopped to rest by Tex and his horse White Flash.



Going on to Kilgore we visited the Kilgore Oil Museum and stopped the bus the the world's richest acre where oil wells were dug so close together that the derricks almost touched.







Tuesday night we drove to a rose garden just over the state line in Louisana. It was cold but the wind was calm and we were able to take the walking tour.

We got to Marshall in time to tour the lights on the courthouse.

Bo Pilgrim contributed funds for a prayer tower in downtown Pittsburgh.

I found the Ezekial Airship display to be very interesting. It is reported that this ship actually flew before the Wright brothers historic flight at Kitty Hawk. The original ship was destroyed in a windstorm and a local shop class built this model from some of the drawings and writtings of the inventor.

We stopped by to see Bo in Pittsburgh!

Our first stop was the Southwest Dairy Museum in Sulfur Springs. The artifacts on display brought back many memories for a lot of us.
