Remembering
David's visit to Enchanted Rock reminded me of our last visit there. I think it was in October of 2003. We drove to the hill country one afternoon in order to spend the night in Fredericksburg before meeting the Tatums at the rock on the next morning.

We had time to seek out a geocache beyond the creek in the city park before dark.

The next morning while the Tatums drove up from Stockdale we toured the world famous community of Leukenbach.
After meeting the Tatums at the park entrance we hiked to the top of the big rock.

Although we didn't climb any of the boulders Ann tried to push a few of them.

Without much success!!

We examined some of the local plants.

After lunch Glenn and Lauren wanted to hike back through Echo Canyon. I wasn't sure that I could make it after all the climbing we did in the morning but they went slow and we made the trip without any problems. We went back to the Moss Lake camping area where Glenn said he would like to come camping some day.

Wednesday
Today was very warm and windy. We recorded an all time record high temperature for this date in the metroplex area. The temperature reached 93 degrees this afternoon!

Large Service Today

Attendance at the morning service was around 280 today for the conclusion of this year's True Love Waits emphasis. Lots of the kids come on Wednesday night but never attend a Sunday worship service. Today many of them brought their parents with them. Rings were presented to all the students who have completed the course for this year. I think there were 49 first year students and 23 who were in their second year.
Ryan Hurt played his keyboard and sang and the choir sang "The Old Rugged Cross Made The Difference."

Lynne and Jeff brought stew for lunch at our house.
Dumplin and I had a good nap in the recliner this afternoon.

The Day After
Saturday is a day of cooking shows on PBS. We watched several yesterday including Dean Fearing and Julia Childs.
I was feeling inspired this morning and decided to create something healthy and nutritious but couldn't find any bacon, brown sugar, onions, celery, or bell pepper.

Even the pepper mill was empty so I just used the tasteless old ground black pepper on my egg. I think we need to go grocery shopping!
