If You Don't Like Texas Weather Just Wait a Minute!

When I started to work Monday afternoon I noticed that it felt unusually warm so I took a thermometer to the pasture with me. I was building a new fence. By mid-afternoon the thermometer in the shade of the truck read 91 degrees! Is this really February?

By Tuesday morning the wind was blowing strongly from the north and was so chilly that I decided against working on the fence today. The weather bureau had issued a red flag warning because of the potential for wildfires in the strong wind and low humidity. We have so much dry grass now that a range fire would be very difficult to control. I don't think the cows could outrun a grass fire in these strong winds.

Jerry had planned to go to Andy's baseball game on Tuesday night but decided it was a little too cold to sit in the stands. By 2 am Wednesday morning my thermometer outside the living room window read 17 degrees! As the sun rose so did the temperature and soon it was comfortable to be working outside again. Marvin helped with the fence today.
