Holiday Activities

We're almost ready for the Tatum visit! Went to Wal-mart today and filled the back of the Excursion with groceries. Should be enough to last 2 or 3 days.

I planned to get the oil changed but there was a long line at Wal-mart's Tire and Lube Express. Went to Kwik Lube and they wanted $40.00 for an oil change so I went back to Wal-mart and bought $10.00 worth of oil and filter. Now if I can just crawl under and open the drain plug. That should be worth $30.00!

We ate at Wendy's but had to circle the place waiting for someone to leave so we could park. The place was packed!

Marvin helped dig a post hole by our flag pole this morning. I bought some concrete to set a new flag pole support.

Nice sunny and warm day today but the wind is strong from the south.

Merry Christmas to All!

Last Friday Jeff's family joined us for a trip to the IKEA store in Frisco. We left home around 10am and were in the store in time for Swedish meatballs and other things for lunch. We didn't do much buying but just a lot of looking. I had forgotten which exit to take off the tollway and exited about a mile too soon but we found the store without much trouble.

We were back on the tollway headed home a little before 3pm but construction at the south end had the traffic backed up for miles. By the time we got off the tollway it was rush hour on I35 so we were still stuck in traffic. It took almost 2 hours to reach the south side of Dallas.

Sunday we had very good attendance for our 10am worship service beginning with baptism. The special candle light service at 6pm was very inspirational.

Jeff's family is coming for lunch Christmas day. Jerry is cooking chicken and dressing by Great's recipe.

Ann Carol and her family will arrive Friday. The Pipes family reunion will be Monday, Jan. 1. After that Jerry and I along with Jeff's family and Ann Carol's family will all travel to San Angelo for Christmas with Sue Ellen and Alan. Maybe the baby will wait until after the packages have been opened.
