After The Thunderstorm

Last Wednesday just before sundown we were greeted by violent thunderstorms with high wind. The high voltage transmission line used to look like this.

After the storm about 10 of the towers near Files Valley looked like this.

I seem to remember one of the engineers telling me during the initial construction of this line that it was designed to withstand 90 MPH winds!

By Saturday afternoon FM 66 was again open to traffic with the aid of a flagman.

We didn't have any serious damage from the wind at our house other than our ornamental windmill blew down.

Busy Days

I have been spending a lot of time at church helping with the remodeling project. Near the end of the day the pastor's family stopped by after school and Cameron brought his umbrella. It has been raining most of the day. When Russell saw me with the kid's umbrella he grabbed the camera.
