Fireworks Celebration

After a short nap in the afternoon we returned to Jeff and Lynne's house late in the evening. A new group of friends from FBC Maypearl had gathered to enjoy fireworks.

Most of the women sat on the porch watching the brave men with those dangerous explosives!

The cattle were curious too - especially the young calves.

My grandson David was fascinated by the sparklers.

As the sun sank behind the pecan trees the larger areal fireworks began to appear. Click on the play arrow to start the movie.

I missed the beginning of the finale but here is the part that I did capture.

I have posted lots of snapshots here. Take some time to browse through them and see how many people you can (or can't) name.

More Water

I drove to Richland Chambers lake Monday afternoon. They were releasing some water through the flood gates. This is not a very deep lake but it covers a lot of area.

This is the scene below the dam. Water extends from this point all the way to the Trinity River. There is a very large section of bottom land in this area. Water from the river spreads to a width of just over 3 miles at this point along both sides of Hwy 287. All the flooded area is a wildlife preserve.
