Monday
Monday started out cloudy and hazy. We fed the cows and checked on the property before a light rain began. This provided a good opportunity to burn trash and garbage that had been collecting all summer.
Jerry needed to do a little shopping so we left before lunch time and stopped at the Chicken Express in Alvarado for catfish and chicken. As we approached Cleburne Jerry remembered seeing an flyer with a 10% discount at Lowe's so we stopped there. We have been admiring a new refrigerator for some time and decided this would be a good time to make the purchase. It is a 25 cu. ft. model.
It was marked down already. We got the 10% discount, and also an offer for a free $100 gift card with a major appliance purchase. Delivery was set up for next Friday (after our yard dries a little).
When we got home we measured our cabinet opening and discovered that the new fridge would not fit!! So we called Lowe's and told them to cancel the order. They said the discount offers ended on Labor day so if we wanted to select another model we should do it today. After another trip to Cleburne we decided on a 22 cu. ft. model but it cost as much as the 25 ft. This one should fit in our space.
